Mao/Nixon is a feature documentary film that I am creating in collaboration with Brendan Davis and Larry Sullivan because every American has an opinion about China, but almost no one knows the behind-the-scenes story of how America helped China take its first steps to become the superpower that it is today.
The 1972 meeting between Mao and Nixon is where it all started. Mao/Nixon will rewrite the popular narrative on the US-China relationship through the lens of the controversial and secret first meetings between the two countries.
This amazing feat of diplomacy created the world as we know it today.
